Located about ten kilometers from Ouarzazate, the “Oasis of Fint” is still a green sanctuary that is untouched by large-scale tourism. Stunning scenery can be seen by visitors to this pristine natural area. Abundant with palm groves, well-kept gardens, and villages with traditional rammed earth houses that blend in perfectly with the picturesque surroundings, the lush Fint valley is surrounded by arid mountains.
Take a half-day trip from Ouarzazate to Fint Oasis; morning and afternoon departures are available. Fint Oasis, 12 km from Ouarzazate, is a perfect half-day trip to discover a true oasis tucked away in a remote location.
Drive a 4X4 on a rough plateau dirt track toward the Anti Atlas Mountains, where Fint Oasis is spread out. Once there, take an hour-long stroll down the riverbank to take in the splendor of the date palm trees and watch the locals as they farm and herd their livestock.
Travel to a Berber village and stop at the home of a local family to accept a warm invitation. Sip mint tea together and listen to their stories. Stop for a visit at Kasbah Tifoultout en route back to Ouarzazate. The 1960s saw the painstaking restoration of this Kasbah, which was used as the setting for the movie "Lawrence of Arabia."
